I can’t wait to see you in orange and blue!! I wish they were riding by my neighborhood.. we lost a LOT of homes very close to me.
Oh, honey! Even Bo Jackson isn’t gonna get me into any orange and blue!!

Patrick again?
No, actually he doesn’t bother me at all! So now you know how bad it really is on my page… if he is the least of my worries. :-)
Somedays I really hate FB...
yes, I know I am breaking my moratorium on using the word “hate”…
Why, oh why are people so negative… and I’m just gonna say it… stupid!!
SO FREAKIN’ TIRED OF THE POLITICAL CRAP!!
On a positive note, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that all of you are noting but positive and accepting and encouraging. Sorry you had to hear my rant… but if I post on FB to...

Recovery Week...
And not a minute too soon! Swim done for today and I will be running with the Monday night group that my former coach leads.
Legs are tired and stiff and sore after a challenging weekend… as it should be!
Happy Monday, Friends!

@Runlong and @RunwithRach →
You guys have to see this video. It is from the Mnt Mitchell Challenge (held here yesterday).
Edit: this is a very cool video for anyone who is interested in Ultras. Obviously, Runlong and Rach were who I immediately thought of.

Only if it wasn’t so far :( I would be all over this! But I would buy it from you lol
What?! A little ol’ cross continent trip is too much for you?? You could drive it in no time!
HAHAHA. And the entry if FREE to a good owner!
NOLA Number up for grabs!!
I totally didn’t realize that I could give me NOLA Marathon number to someone.
I am not going to race because my coach and doc think it is a bad idea with my knee and the Half IM around the corner…
Anybody want it????
EDIT: FREE! It’s FREE, people!
@Pattidoestris
Someone gave this to my husband when he lost his dog, Abbie. He had her for 16 years (since he was 15 years old) and he was pretty distraught. It has been 12 years since she died, but he kept this story.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play ...
On a beautiful day...
I am inside on my freakin trainer!! Sweet P has an ear infection and is home from school… entertain me, people! I beg of you! The sunshine I see through my front door is just cruel - CRUEL!!
Great Article - Train your brain →
This was written by Chrissy Wellington (4 time Ironman World Champion) and I really enjoyed reading it. It is not just about Triathlon and her advice could be applied to any type of race/competition.
Dang iPhone app! I wasn’t done yet!
Congrats to everyone who rocked their races today! I can’t wait to read all the recaps… On a normal size screen.
Happy Weekend, friends.
Got it done...
that stinkin’ swim from yesterday that just refused to happen… well it got made up for today!
Mind you, I suffered through the last 500m of my 2200m swim… I lost my swim skills pretty fast during marathon training when I barely had time to sleep, much less swim!
Also, a quick 4 mile run and some knee PT.
Tomorrow I rest and then Sat is the Berry Half Marathon with the boys....

Trainers have ALL THE POWERRRR!!! hahaha
Yes, yes my friend, they do. And we love to hate them for it! :P
How did I not know about this before?
Anybody heard of Athlinks.com?? Jay (my coach) told me about it last Friday on the coldest bike ride of my life… anyway, I digress (and clearly can’t sleep - dangit!).
So cool! You just type in your name, pick out one of your races and voila… all your race results in front of you!! Well, almost all. Most of them report. VERY, VERY COOL!

Plan B… Join the class?
Yeah, I’m thinking that when I reported back to my swim coach (former Olympian, BTW) that I substituted is hellacious workout with water aerobics… well, lets just say he would have been mad and I don’t piss Jose off! He has the ability to make my life very, very...
Plan C, anyone???
So, Plan B was to have my neighbor keep my kids and feed them dinner while I swam… I would return for bath and bedtime. Obviously, Luke is at the fire dept today or this wouldn’t be a problem.
Got home and she one of her kids has a stomach bug and had just started getting sick. :(
Plan C (for the love!! this is just a 1500 swim! why must it be so hard to just get in the water?!):...
Today is the day that the Y decided to start a new water aerobics class I stead of have extra lap swim lanes!! Plan B…

Bike - 25 miles - CHECK
Swim - WILL do 1500m workout while boy is at swim practice… hold me to this!
Now I’m off to buy those little spandex bike short kind of swim suits the boys wear. My boy has had enough of practicing in his trunks… Seeing him wear this is sure to make me giggle :-)
Stayed out too late...
How did a quick Valentine’s dinner turn into me being out till midnight?
Love my husband and obviously we love to talk cause we closed down the restaurant. I needed a curfew! This is ridiculous…
SOOOOOO tired! Quick nap then I. WILL. RIDE. ALL. THE. MILES. and SWIM. ALL. THE. METERS!
Back to the regular schedule :-)
When I left for the gym, I threw my swim suit in the bag… just in case. Glad I did!
Ran 50 minutes on the dreadmill - and got my heat training in for the week. Seriously, why does it need to be 73 degrees in a room where everyone in said room should be shaking a tail feather?? Whatever. I guess it will get me ready for the Gulf Coast Tri in May (read: likely flamin’ HOT).
Then I did...
Skipping swim… coach says no go with this head cold… he said “oxygen is good when swimming. Doesn’t look like you would get enough of it. Don’t want it moving to your chest.”
Relief!
Getting on trainer in a few… Entertain me, please!
10 Reasons to Avoid Processed Foods

To swim or not to swim...
I’m still not feeling very good. My throat hurts and my head is still stuffy…I feel drained of my energy, but I don’t have a fever.
Schedule calls for a morning swim and an afternoon bike. I can get on my trainer and manage the miles on my bike, I think.
But, the swim… should I do it or not? Can it make me sicker? Suggestions appreciated.
I forgot!
This is what I think may have been the illness-inciting event…
My coach calls me at 9am and says “Grab your bike and come over. We should get on the trainer and see about fitting your bike a little more aggressively. Then, we can go for a quick, easy spin.”
It was 31 degrees, cloudy and I was less than thrilled. I DON”T BIKE OUTSIDE UNTIL IT IS AT LEAST 45 DEGREES,...
I'm sick for the first time in almost a year!
I have a head cold and a sore throat. I don’t think I have a fever, but I am exhausted. I need to be on my trainer doing a 30 mile “ride.” Still considering it, but most likely wont happen.
Instead… you all are about to see a photo recap (read: spam) of my weekend… your welcome in advance!
P.S. Anyone have any ideas on how to shake this head cold crap FAST?!...
