An Open Letter to Ironman
Dear Ironman,
Get. Out. Of. My. Head! Though I am ever so interested in you (curious mostly), I must remain true to the goals in my immediate future. I must focus on the Charleston Marathon - I have dedicated so much of my body and mind to it already. And then I must think of the Panama City HALF Ironman - I know this one might sting a little, but it MUST be done and is in my grasp. You, my dear,...
7 more Birthday Miles for Robin
It was a bee-u-tiful day - all clear and sun shiny after days upon days of gray and rain. Chilly but not freezing and no wind - HALLELUIAH (sung like it is in the Halleluiah Chorus)!
Legs were D-E-A-D! I have now run a total of 43 miles since Sunday - 5 days, no rest days and my body is exhausted. But I pushed through and enjoyed just being outside and feeling the fresh air on my skin and in my...
Hello new followers...
in the last couple days I have had 12 new followers! I am so excited!! Thanks so much for wanting to read my nonsense and follow my crazy training (and life)… I am SO enjoying this ride - and loving it even more since starting my tumblr and meeting ALL my new interwebz buddies.
I don’t know if it is the holiday spirit or the insane amount of training I am doing right now, but I feel...

I just walked into the bathroom where the kids are getting showered and literally couldn’t hear myself think because Sweet P was singing SO LOUD in the shower. I started laughing and the Little Man just looked at me and giggled and said “she’s been like that the whole time she’s been in there.”
SO THANKFUL to have that little girl in our lives - SO HAPPY, SO...
7 Miles on the Dreadmill... and Robin's Birthday...
AGAIN with the freakin’ dreadmill!
RAIN MUST STOP… or I might implode! NEED SUN!
I watch a leaf, then a piece of trash, then the leaf again… listened to my iPod, but it didn’t really help.
ROBIN GETS THE LAST 3 MILES - making a total of 11 miles for her birthday, so far.
The last 3 miles because after 4 miles I had to get off the treadmill to pee… either I drank...
Robin's Birthday Miles
I have 53 miles on the schedule this week. I like Robin, and I don’t want to age her prematurely so I am not dedicating all of them to her… JUST THE ONES THAT ARE THE HARDEST!!
Last night’s 5 were fairly enjoyable so they don’t count.
Today, however… 8 miles total - intervals… and on the dreadmill because of the rain we are having.
So Robin, even though I...
More car conversation:
Sweet P: I don’t know what I want to be, but I know what I want to do with my whole heart… I want to tell everybody what to do.
For SelfMadeMagic...
This is in response to you post about race nutrition. Tridad posted this article back in Nov. and I loved it. I also don’t like all the fake food, so I have been looking for options. This was a good resource for me.

Why must the Athleta catalog have such awesome clothes… now, I want ALL the things in it! I’m sure that was their point, but still…
On the way to school today, this was what we talked about:
Sweet P: Mommy, when I get to be an adult, I am going to be a judge.
Me: That's great, Sweet P! You will be very good at that.
Sweet P: Yeah... I'm gonna make all the places that give out bad food close because they lie... you know McDonalds and Arlee's (Arby's) and Wennies (Wendy's). [My kids have never eaten at any of these places, so they are not very familiar]
Me: Well... what do you think they lie about?
Sweet P: They tell people they are giving them food, but it's just fake food - you know, it turns to plastic in your belly after you eat it! [she makes a disgusted face]
Me: [laughed out loud]
I would say the brainwashing phase is complete! I know it won't last long, but it is going to be so great while it lasts...
And the judicial system Sweet P style? That would be interesting! Mrs. Tridad may have to talk to her when she gets older.
Thanks Runlong and Rach...
It was a great live stream tonight! It is so nice that you guys do this once a week.
16 miles... that's when it starts...
I was going to post a question to all of you more seasoned at Marathoning than I am… When does the marathon training weight gain start?
However, I may have the answer for myself… after running 16 miles thins morning, I have been ravenous - like eating anything in my path, my kids were scared, kind of ravenous.
So is this when it starts??? I have lost some weight up until now, but...
Kindle Stuff
Chrisrunsanddoeslife:
He will just use it for books - there are computers at every station and he isn’t allowed to take my MacBook or iPad out of my sight - he is seriously a curse upon all electronics!
Michaeldoeslife:
We have WiFi at home, but they don’t have it at any of the stations. They are all wired - primal, I know! Once the books are downloaded does it need internet...
Need some info...
on the Kindle. I want to get one for my hubby for Christmas, but have no idea what to get. He needs to be able to carry it to the Fire Dept. with him and he is not very tech savvy. I also need to not want to cry when (not if) he breaks the thing.
Suggestions???
